Since our group's foundation in 1960, Recruit have developed their global businesses so they can contribute to a world in which people can follow their hearts. RGF Staffing UK have achieved further enhancement and expanded both our influence on society and our responsibility as a corporate citizen.

RGF Staffing UK is an organisation driven for and by people. As an HR-service provider, our people are at the very centre of our activities. As a company, we encourage our people to develop on intellectual, commercial and social levels. We do so in the firm believe that the growth of our individual people contributes to the growth of both RGF Staffing and the wider RGF Staffing group as well as Recruit as a whole. The UK Management board believes we (as individuals and as a company) should grow and do this with fairness, integrity, respect for the law and respect for the world around us.

We strongly believe in this sustainability policy and that we are committed towards the openness, honesty, integrity, and ethical behaviour it conveys.

Our sustainability policy

Seeking a sustainable world of plenty, we contribute to society through all our corporate activities. To do this, we take a long-term view in addressing social issues, committing ourselves to three guiding principles and five core themes.

Five Material Matters

In order to realise our corporate mission of creating a prosperous society in which each individual flourishes, we have established the following five core themes for our sustainability activities.

1. Inspire new ways of working

What does work mean to us? How can we work better? Since our foundation we have been constantly asking these questions.

We will continue to evolve new ways of working to find paths for individuals to achieve their aspirations. Maximising human talent is our core business.

2. Close the opportunity gap

We believe that the more people are free to pursue their passions, the better the future becomes. Closing the opportunity gap is a key factor for this. We have matched countless people and businesses in ways that have not been done before and will continue to do so.

We want to be an innovative, accessible and attractive employer for all our talents – both our own staff and flex workers. An employer that provides a platform for them to maximise their unique talent.

Through our partnership with our training provider Recruitment Juice, we also support a programme run by United World Schools (UWS) called Teach the Unreached. We all recognise that education transforms lives. United World Schools (UWS) works in hard-to-reach areas to give every child access to quality, inclusive education. They partner with local communities and supporters around the world to teach the unreached. Their mission is to improve, through education, life opportunities for some of the world's poorest children living in remote and marginalised communities.

Since 2019 RGF Staffing have contributed to over 140 school days for underprivileged children across the world.

3. Celebrate diversity and inclusion

We celebrate diversity in nationality, race, religion, gender, age, disabilities, sexual orientation and gender identity, and more.

We respect and capitalize on each other's differences to promote creativity in the world.

Our aim is to achieve a diverse composition of employees within every level of the organisation, focusing on aspects such as gender and age, as well as on people with an (occupational) limitation or people who are otherwise further removed from the job market.

4. Respect human rights

Our vision, ‘a world where people can follow their hearts’ starts from respecting human rights. We follow RGF Staffing Human Rights Policy to respect the rights of our diverse stakeholders.

We provided all employees with training focusing on human rights relating to the products and services provided by our three organisations. These include, modern slavery, unconscious bias, anonymisation and spotting bias (gender or other) in adverts.

5. Conserve the environment

We all have a common responsibility for the global environment. We strive to reduce our negative impact on the environment by addressing climate change, resource preservation and biodiversity conservation. We aim to enlighten society with our environmentally conscious lifestyle.

Our branches use office space and we often travel. This causes CO₂ emissions. We believe it is our responsibility to take measures to minimize these emissions. We have set up a CO₂ reduction plan for this purpose. In the past few years we have progressively lowered our CO₂ emissions.

In the last two years RGF Staffing have offset over 50 Tonnes of emissions generated by employee business miles.

In 2019 we partnered with Aquaid when we switched from bottle-fed water coolers to a water filtration system in our Head Office. This has a number of benefits.

Helping the environment by reducing our use of plastic, as well as doing away with the need for a van to deliver the bottles of water or collect the empty bottles.

Our relationship with AquAid has also given us the opportunity to help those less fortunate than ourselves, because with each purchase an automatic donation is made to the Africa Trust.  These funds are used to build ‘elephant pumps’ - a modified version of an age-old Chinese rope pulley system. 

In 2020 we were delighted to announce that the first RGF Staffing pump has now been installed in Africa on our behalf and will be a much-needed source of clean and fresh drinking water for many.

2021 will see the continuation of our commitment to sustainability as we continue to report our emissions levels across our 4 locations in line with our internal target for 2025.

Our marketing department is committed to sourcing sustainable products, reducing the amount of plastic, focusing on biodegradable or recyclable materials as well as reducing the road and airmiles our products use to reach us.

Sustainable Development Goals

We will pursue the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are associated with our five material matters, to contribute to global sustainability.

The SDGs that correspond to the critical issues identified by materiality analysis are as shown below. As can be seen from the focus themes, we consider human rights a crucial issue, recognising it as being at the root of all SDGs.
